At Ktizo, kids are welcome! Our 11 o’clock service is designed as a place where children and adults worship side by side. The children lead the congregation in song, and are led and nurtured by the adults who share their lives and stories with the children.
Our children are a part of our community in every way. They play in the Ktizo Kids’ Band “Fearless Welcome”. Participants range in age from toddlers to teens with no previous experience necessary.
We believe that kids learn about God’s love and call to serve by showing -not telling. Our children volunteer at food banks, clothing drives, and in our school and community gardens alongside the adults.
Our community of families does not meet on Sunday mornings only. We gather at each other’s houses for band practice, parties and swimming. We are not trying to make a polished performance that you can come to on Sunday, but a living community that you are invited to – whether you are 1 or 100.
All the kids at Ktizo are invited to be in the band. Our children have an amazing set of talents. They sing, play drums, guitar, bass and even ukulele. Our younger children join in with shakers. We know how to make a joyful noise to God.
People are surprised that many of our children are unafraid to share their opinions, their insights and their talents in front of the congregation. This is a result of programs, like the Kids’ Band and the children’s time that show our children that their contributions are valued and welcomed. Our vision is to use activities like the Kids Band as a way to help children grow not only as musicians, but as friends and leaders.
The kids volunteer their time with various partnership organizations including Interfaith Cooperative Ministries (ICM) and Imagine School.
We take seriously the care and safety of our children and follow safe church policies and security procedures. Volunteers who work with our youth are finger printed and must go through an extensive background check.
